Evaluation 2

Evaluation format

In order to validate this part of the course, you will have to pass an evaluation.

The evaluation will last 60 minutes and the questions will be in French. You can answer them in French or English.

The evaluation dates will be as follow:

• DAI-TIC-B (Monday mornings): 25.11.2024
• DAI-TIC-C (Friday mornings): 29.11.2024

The evaluation will be done on paper and is made up of two parts.

Once you have finished the first part, come to the teacher's desk to hand it in and you will receive the second part.

Once you have finished the second part, you can leave the room quietly.

You cannot get the first part back once you have handed it in.

Chapters evaluated

The following chapters will be evaluated:

• Define an application protocol
• Java TCP programming
• Java UDP programming
• Java network concurrency
• SMTP and ncat
• Practical work 2

• Docker and Docker Compose (without the practical content regarding Docker Compose)

This evaluation will be more challenging than the previous one.

You must be prepared, fast and concise.

Aim for all the points, but do not spend too much time on a single question.

Evaluation content

You might be asked questions about the theoretical content and the practical content in each chapter. You might also be asked about elements seen in the practical work as well.

You might also be asked to write/explain code snippets or to explain how to solve a specific problem.

Notes

You have access to your own notes in paper format. Your notes must fit on 2.5 (1 + 1.5) sheets of paper (recto).

They can contain anything useful to you: definitions, schemas, code snippets, etc.

You will be able to use them during the exam at the end of the semester.

Rules

No communication between students is allowed.

Cheating is not allowed. If you are caught cheating, you will get a 1 for the evaluation.

How to prepare

All typical questions are at the end of each chapter you studied.

All previous evaluations are available in the 00-evaluation-and-exam-archives directory of the course repository.

Check all evaluations as some chapters were rearranged this year.
